Ordinance Defined
A formal written order of a public agency's legislative body, usually for the purpose of establishing agency policies or determining the rights of persons having business with the agency. Ordinances for most California agencies must be read at two meetings of the governing board and are subject to referendum for at least 30 days after their adoption.

Mountain Home City Council creates new position to handle city fees, licenses

Mountain Home City Council adopted an ordinance last night creating a new position called administrative clerk. On a 6-0 vote, council members followed the lead of the personnel committee to split off all fee-handling duties from the city clerk's responsibilities and assign those duties and more to the new position. Council members Phil Frame and Marshella Norrel did not attend the meeting.
